The Mitsubishi Lancer is a notable automobile that was produced by Mitsubishi Motors from 1973 until 2024. Over its long production run, the Lancer was marketed under various names in different countries, including the Colt Lancer, Dodge Colt, Plymouth Colt, Chrysler Valiant Lancer, Chrysler Lancer, Eagle Summit, Hindustan Lancer, Soueast Lioncel, and Mitsubishi Mirage. In Japan, it has been sold as the Mitsubishi Galant Fortis since 2007, and in Taiwan, it was known as the Mitsubishi Lancer Fortis with a distinct facelift.
Throughout its history, the Lancer gained significant sales traction, with over six million units sold by 2008 and ten generations produced. Although Mitsubishi ended global production in August 2017, the Lancer continued to be manufactured in Taiwan and China until 2024. An extensive facelift was undertaken for the Chinese market by Pininfarina's Chinese offices before production ceased, marking the conclusion of the Lancer nameplate after 51 years.
